Pet Daycare, Lodging, and Training Agreement

Today's Date: April 26, 2024

Dawg Gone It (DGI) is owned and operated by For the Love of Dog, LLC, and this "Pet Daycare, Lodging, and Training Agreement constitutes a legally binding agreement between For the Love of Dog, LLC and its clients. We appreciate your business and want to ensure that our policies related to the services we are providing are clearly understood. By signing this agreement, the undersigned client(s) confirm(s) that they have read and understand the policies or risks indicated as applicable.

Overall Health

All pets visiting DGI must be in good health. For the protection of all pets staying or playing at DGI, all clients are required to disclose any and all medical conditions for their pet(s). Any pet with a communicable condition will not be allowed admittance to DGI. Pets that have been ill with a communicable condition within the past 10 days will require a veterinarian's certification of health prior to being re-admitted to DGI. Pets adopted from shelters must have had a 30-day period between adoption and the first visit to DGI. Medications required during lodging stays are limited to oral and topical applications only, dispensed no more than three times per day. Pets requiring multiple medications may be subject to an additional processing fee. All pets staying at DGI must be on an effective flea control program; if fleas are found at check-in, a mandatory Capstar tablet will be given (cost is $12). Female pets may not be in heat during any sort of visit that includes group play or during any sort of training appointment.

Vaccinations

Our vaccination policy is designed to protect the health of all pets at DGI while also supporting growing concerns in the pet community about potential health risks of over-vaccination of pets and complying with California state law. We require and verify a current rabies vaccination every year for pets over 4 months of age. We also require immunity/resistance against core diseases, distemper and parvovirus. We recommend but do not require the Bordetella vaccine. We suggest you contact your vet and discuss with them whether your pet would benefit from receiving the vaccine. We request for our files evidence from your veterinarian of your pet's current vaccination status for rabies, parvovirus and distemper. We do defer to each pet's owner/veterinarian team regarding existing immunity status and recommended vaccination protocol for that pet while in our community facility. If your veterinarian has advised against certain vaccination protocols for your pet we will not require those vaccinations and will accept your veterinarian's letter and your release of liability in the event your pet contracts a disease.

Risk of Illness

Despite the care we take in sanitizing our facility and screening pets for illness, DGI cannot guarantee that a pet will not become ill while staying at our facility. A pet may have no symptoms of an illness, such as Bordetella, while still being contagious. Further, the Bordetella vaccine is not always effective, so a risk would remain even in a scenario where all dogs present are vaccinated against the illness. Enrolling your pet at DGI and admitting your pet to the facility constitutes an agreement to accept the risk that your pet may contract an illness and that DGI and For the Love of Dog, LLC will not be held liable if this occurs.

Lodging Behavior Requirements

The DGI system for pet lodging requires that all pets be handled for feeding and cleaning of enclosures by our staff. Inappropriate behavior can result in termination of lodging privileges. Inappropriate pet behavior includes, but is not limited to, growling, snapping, biting, or excessive stress exhibited in continual barking, pacing, drooling, and/or physical destruction of property.

Lodging Recommendations

Overnight lodging is charged just like when you stay at a hotel. Check-in is from 3:00 pm to close of business, and check-out is no later than 1:00pm. Early check-in and/or late check-out will result in an additional half day charge of $18.00. This charge will be waived when a pet receives services such as playgroup, walks, etc., on the day on which the charge would have been incurred.

To make your pet's stay as comfortable as possible, we suggest bringing and feeding their own food. We also gladly accept their bed from home and one or more of their favorite toys to make the suite feel more familiar. DGI does offer dry food for lodging pets at no additional charge, however changing a pet's food can lead to upset stomach and diarrhea. If a client does not provide food for a pet, please be advised that the pet may exhibit these symptoms during and/or after the stay.

Daycare Dog Social Skills & Attendance Requirements

All dogs attending daycare must be spayed or neutered by 8 months of age. Inappropriate dog behavior can result in termination of daycare privileges. Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to, bullying another dog, biting, and fighting. Any dog that inflicts a puncture wound to another dog or staff member will no longer be allowed in group play. We will discuss all situations and concerns candidly with you and recommend training or behavior rehabilitative options that may remedy any undesirable behavior. For everyone's safety, dogs need to play at least once per month to retain daycare privileges. We reserve the right to re-test any dog we deem necessary if we have not seen them in 3 months or more.

Veterinary Care During Stay

In the event that a pet develops signs of a condition requiring veterinary attention, DGI will seek veterinary care on your behalf at your pet's regular veterinarian in a non-emergency situation and if your regular veterinarian is within 15 miles of the DGI location where your pet is enrolled. In an emergency situation or when your regular veterinarian is further than 15 miles away, DGI would contact a local veterinarian to care for your pet(s). In a non-emergency situation, DGI will attempt to contact you prior to taking any action. In an emergency situation or if DGI is unable to contact you, DGI will obtain veterinary care for your pet(s) at the discretion of the DGI staff.

I hereby give DGI representatives permission to seek veterinary care for my pet(s) whether or not DGI is are able to contact me in advance, and I agree to pay the veterinarian directly or reimburse DGI for any associated costs.
